Title: Bn531/bn532/hr513
Description: commands?

Hi

I want to confirm that I am the using the correct Function commands using when running the feeds for HR513, BN531 & BN532.

• When an employee is terminated, the Employee Election file BN531 will show an FC= 'S', with a stop date,

• If the terminated employee had dependents, the HR513 (Dependent Demographic file) will show an FC = “D” for each Dependent (record) the employee had

• Dependent Election file via the BN532 will show an FC= 'S', with a stop date.

• This would also be true if the employee has changes in his benefit coverages (i.e.- health or dental) - correct?

As always, Thanks for your help!

I believe a "D" for each Dependent record in HR513 will attempt to delete the dependent from the file. If you're just ending the enrollments because the employee terminated or dropped coverage, you don't have to touch the HR13 Dependent record at all - unless you want to change the dependent status to "inactive".

Thanks Karen, that makes sense for HR513

I verified the BN531 will accept an "S" stop command

However, the BN532 will only accept an A,C, D commands. 'S' was not one of it's choices - so in order to stop a dependent benefit, the stop date has to be on the file with a FC = "C", with the date field = whatever the stop date s/be. If the employee terminated, a populated he employee stop date would in essence be the dependent's 'stop' date

I know clear as mud, but is this a correct thought?

Thanks for everyone's help...
