Our company recently implemented an e-learning system and we are in the
process of implementing an on-line scheduling system. We also have
plans to implement succession planning. All of these systems need to
include data that we can record in Lawson such as competencies,
qualifications, skills, working conditions, job descriptions, and
physical & mental requirements in Lawson. We also are revising all our
job descriptions. (What a timely project!)
I am interested in hearing from other healthcare users who have
successfully defined competencies, qualifications, skills, etc.
regardless of the system used. I know the value of learning from experienced users. Thanks in advance for your help.

We would also like to implement this. I would be interested in perhaps working with some other health care organizations to create a "library" of competencies, qualifications, etc.
We tried to use the skills/qualifications modules in Lawson but Lawson does not provide enough fields or space to adequately include information about the skills. You basically get 30 characters to say everything you need about the skill. This does not satisfy our need to house validation requirements, descriptions, or any useful information about the skill.
At the last Lawson CUE, Lawson said they are working on a skills/compensation/performance review module but I have not heard any timelines regarding this project.
We have basically moved all of our training/skills/compentency/qualification data to another software system.
