We are on HR & GL 8.1 msp5 and want to install msp6. We'd like to know how much effort/time this involves, since this will be our first MSP (we just went live).

Also any snags that we may need to know about??

Welcome to the Lawson Update process... This is something you'll be working with from now on, so careful planning and testing is critical to making it all work.

For the clients I've worked with, MSP 6 has not been a huge deal, but there have been occasional issues requiring us to look to Lawson for patches, and all of them have taken it slowly and done careful testing.

It's best to install MSP 6 in a test productline where your users can QA it, much they way they did before you went live - remembering that the quality of their testing is directly responsible for the successful implementation in your production system. I cannot stress TOO HIGHLY the importance of this QA phase. If it is not done - or is done poorly - then you could have a real mess when you deploy in Production.
