Title: Security In Lawson
Description: Security for LAENV

We recently revamped our security for all areas. In HR, they use LAENV to download documents to their PC. For some reason, this no longer works. I've asked Lawson and Siemens who hosts our server and neither has been able to come up with how I can give this back to them. I am able to use LAENV as the administrator. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I've checked environment security and gave them full access to that, but they still can't access...

The name of the transfer utiility is winptxfr, see if they have access to that. Its really in the environment forms I believe.

That said, there has got to be a better way to transfer files. I am assuming you're on UNIX. Do you have ftp access or Samba?

I gave them full access to the environment forms since that is where I thought it was. However, they can access LAENV, but when they click on User Desktop, that is where they are stopped. I do use FTP Pro, but they do not have that and they have always used the LAENV process. I can give them FTP Pro which is much easier, but since they are used to the other way, I was trying to restore this for them. Thanks!

If FTP is permitted, and it sounds like it is, I've had success with WS-FTP. It's a very small exe and you can establish profiles that point you into the correct sending/receiving directories on both the client and host. Once established all the user has to do is enter their password and once connected drag and drop. I believe WS-FTP is also free.
