Would anyone be willing to share a summary perspective on test plans that you have put together when doing just an environment upgrade? Are you going through a full test cycle of your apps, etc...? Random testing?

My current client does full regression testing for ESPs - so you can figure that an env upgrade get that and more.

We do a full system test including verifying reports, testing all routine processing functions, testing mods & interfaces (we have quite a few), and running a payroll for several process levels.

We perform the same tests as Scott mentions - plus, we specifically process data for a group of our "problem children" who are exceptions on a regular basis to our standard processing.
