Perhaps you've heard mention of "GSC Manilla" and are wondering if your LIS tickets and support calls are going to be shipped out into the Pacific ocean for a response. Fear Not! Lawson is NOT moving the Global Support Center to Manila. Your calls and LIS IM's will still be handled in warm and sunny St. Paul, MN. You may remember a while back when there was some discussion of "GSC" changing it's name to "Lawson Support".
What *IS* happening is that Lawson is opening a remote services organization in Manila. In this case "GSC" stands for "Global *SERVICES* Center" and will be tasked with doing remote installations and upgrades for 9.0 products, along with custom code mods and specialty programming.
Of course we traveling consultants will still be available to be on-site if/when we are needed, but the remote services is a less expensive option for those clients that are in a position to make use of it - and it gives us Services guys more bandwidth to deal with clients who really need us.
Either way, you're still covered - and covered better, and with more options - than you have been previously.
It's a "Good Thing"...
are Manilla Envelopes made in Manilla? I always thought it was Vanilla Envelopes. Found out otherwise the otherday when I tried to eat one once. Definately not made of vanilla.
