Title: Lbi Emailing Reports To Roles
Description: Missing something
vc727 - April 11, 2007 07:46 PM (GMT)
I have LBI set up to email a few 2-3 reports to some executives and HR staff. but they don't seem to be getting delivered to the users. I get them as the owner.
I have the devices set up for each user and have done the delivery test and they get the test but when the report is scheduled and runs I am the only one to get it.
I have the recipients set to all report users and roles and set to send report as attachment in pdf format.
I have tested the delivery to a role and that works fine.
I am not sure where else to look?
I am sure it is one flag or group somewhere that I am missing.

After creating the schedule, have you verified that your desired recipients are included via the Report Users tab under Schedule Options?

Yes the Report Users section of the schedule contains the same list as the Report Users section of the Report Detail. The "Users" are all "roles" but I have tested delivery to the roles and it works ok.

and you didnt check the "Burst Report - Reporting Structure or Burst Field is required in the Bursting Options Screen.", what about on the "Default Permissions" be sure "Ability to view a report.", "Ability to view the latest instance." and "Ability to export a report." are all checked.
Try sending someone or yourself an email with the same PDF attached. Might be a security violation on the SMTP server or a size violation.

I have everything set as you have said below and I get the emails but they don't go out to the users. The tests are all delivered but when the schedule runs it doesn't send the reports to the users. I have been forwarding the reports when they run so they can recieve them. I feel like I am playing a game of capture the flag.

You can check your "stdout.log" files in H:\Apps\LawsonBusinessIntelligence\tomcat-5.0.28\logs and search for this word "Sending email to:" you will see a message if there was errors sending the email.

also, sometimes Ive seen errors get posted to the localhost_log.yyyy-mm-dd.txt. The one you want will be the one with the current date, localhost_log.2007-04-16.txt and also stderrr.out.
Also, I assume the user that youre using to send the email is an actual account? Are you using Lotus Notes or Exchange? If exchange, add that account in Outlook, resend and see if you get any messages bounced back.
