Title: Looking For Oracle 10g Backup Scripts
Description: AIX 5.2, 8.1 Technology

Does anyone have a working Backup script for Oracle 10g on AIX 5.2? I want to make sure I am backing up all Lawson relevant information. We are currently testing Lawson 8.1. Thanks.

hmmm, if you want to back up Lawson related data then impexp -s should work regardless of the DB.

See correction below!

I'm sure you meant "expsysdb" instead of it's importing twin "impexp". Of course these will be required to get all the metadata out of GEN, but my guess is that question was for backing up the application data that is in Oracle 10g.

Just let me add that you never want to get the data without also getting the metadta that goes with it, at least not if you have ANY hopes of using it to recover from a disaster situation. :beat:

Sorry I don't have a 10g script lying around, but I'll go on the prowl for one thts working for one of my clients.

g'luck!

Oh man, good catch, all work and no play makes Jack a clumsy boy.
yes I meant expsysdb -s.
Which can be used to extract the data from the application productline as well as GEN.
